  • We are looking for candidates with a background in consulting or a similar role within a reporting and communications agency/consultancy (preferably with ESG reporting exposure) or a corporate sustainability function.

    To be successful in this role, you will have:

    • Experience in financial reporting, integrated reporting, ESG reporting and sustainability strategy.
    • Deep knowledge of sustainability reporting frameworks, initiatives and standards (e.g., IFRS, TCFD, SASB, GRI, UNGPRF).
    • Familiarity with sustainability-related legislation across Europe, North America and ROW (e.g., CSRD, SEC, ISSB, CSDDD, EU Taxonomy and anti-greenwashing regulations).
    • Experience in sustainability/ESG ratings, rankings and surveys (e.g., CDP, DJSI, CHRB, ISS, Sustainalytics).
    • Expertise in GHG emissions calculations, net zero assessments and SBTi.
    • An understanding of how to conduct double materiality assessments.
    • Experience in developing goals and KPIs.
    • Knowledge of sustainability/ESG reporting databases or platforms.
    • Familiarity with implementing Workiva solutions.
    • Experience in conducting human rights and saliency assessments.
    • The ability to provide diversity and inclusion advisory.

    Primary responsibilities:

    • Help Flag achieve and maintain a thought leadership position by having and maintaining best practice industry-leading expertise in your specialist areas.
    • Lead knowledge in your specialist area/s and regularly share with internal teams and clients, both on an ad hoc and request basis.
    • Coach analysts and others internally on areas of expertise, contributing to the team’s overall ESG knowledge.
    • Regularly produce thought leadership pieces in your areas of expertise, working closely with the Marketing team and others to disseminate it to Flag clients and broader stakeholders, including supporting the new business drive.
    • Attend and actively participate in in-person and digital industry events raising Flag’s profile as much as possible.
    • Lead research in our specialist area.
    • Enhance Flag’s proposal win rate by contributing your expertise and advice where appropriate, both in the proposal and subsequent presentations.
    • Contribute knowledge and strategic expertise to ongoing projects, helping the team deliver it with expertise and brilliance.
    • Lead relevant project presentations, workshops, interviews, etc with expert knowledge and confidence.
    • Support the Account Direction team by providing strategic guidance and recommendations directly to clients.

    The location

    This role can be part London office-based or fully remote in the UK or Canada. Travel to client meetings in the UK,  North America and Europe will be required.

  • We are looking for an experienced, expert, innovative and creative senior account director with communications skills for ESG and integrated reporting and sustainability advisory, based in the UK, to lead teams on some of Flag’s high-profile reporting and communications accounts. You should have several years of experience in a senior role in an agency or consultancy with in-depth knowledge of all the latest regulatory and voluntary standards and an understanding of all elements of report production, including content and data management and use of tools such as Workiva. You should be experienced in planning for communications around report and standalone ESG communications campaigns. You will have outstanding relationship, line management and team leadership skills and a proven ability in leading proposals and presentations.

    The ideal candidate will be:

    • experienced in leading client and internal teams to produce outstanding reports and impactful communications
    • expert in international reporting frameworks and standards, such as the ESRS, NFRD, GRI and IFRS reporting frameworks and ESG reporting indices
    • expert in sustainability materiality assessments and stakeholder engagement processes
    • able to provide strategic advice for ESG messaging, campaigns and communications
    • experienced in working with creative teams to develop sustainability content
    • knowledgeable about social media platforms and understanding differing content needs
    • comfortable working closely with C-suite stakeholders (leading interviews and workshops)
    • expert in identifying, pursuing and converting new business opportunities, including leading presentations and pitches
    • knowledgeable about corporate communications and associated production processes, including digital.
