  • We are looking for a PR Account Director with a passion for ESG and responsible finance to join our Communications team. 

    To be successful in this role, you will have:

    • The ability to provide informed counsel to senior stakeholders, supported by strong expertise in strategic communications.
    • Demonstrable expertise in ESG and responsible finance, with a genuine passion for sustainability.
    • Proven experience in managing teams to deliver impactful PR campaigns and high-quality outputs within tight deadlines.
    • A growth mindset with an understanding of profitability in an agency environment.
    • Good organisational skills with excellent attention to detail, ensuring exceptional delivery standards.

    Primary responsibilities:

    • You will serve as the primary point of contact for key clients, building and maintaining strong relationships. You should be sufficiently confident and knowledgeable to advise clients in most situations without input from more senior members of the team.
    • You should have a ‘nose for news’ – able to identify newsworthy story angles, often from dense and complex subject matter, and develop compelling messaging in line with client objectives. You should cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key journalists.
    • You will lead the development and implementation of impactful PR and communications strategies and campaigns that align with client goals.
    • You are a confident writer and produce quality written content. You have experience in developing compelling copy – both short and long form – and are able to produce or edit content to tight deadlines when required.
    • You should have strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and mentor team members, leading by example and promoting a collaborative work environment.
    • You will be accountable for delivering high-quality communications in line with client expectations – requiring excellent attention to detail and management of your own and others’ time.
    • You should have a firm handle on the profitability of your accounts, ensuring that time spent on projects reflects agreed scopes of work. You should identify and pursue opportunities for growth – both with new and existing clients.

  • We are looking for candidates with a background in consulting or a similar role within a reporting and communications agency/consultancy (preferably with ESG reporting exposure) or a corporate sustainability function.

    To be successful in this role, you will have:

    • Experience in financial reporting, integrated reporting, ESG reporting and sustainability strategy.
    • Deep knowledge of sustainability reporting frameworks, initiatives and standards (e.g., IFRS, TCFD, SASB, GRI, UNGPRF).
    • Familiarity with sustainability-related legislation across Europe, North America and ROW (e.g., CSRD, SEC, ISSB, CSDDD, EU Taxonomy and anti-greenwashing regulations).
    • Experience in sustainability/ESG ratings, rankings and surveys (e.g., CDP, DJSI, CHRB, ISS, Sustainalytics).
    • Expertise in GHG emissions calculations, net zero assessments and SBTi.
    • An understanding of how to conduct double materiality assessments.
    • Experience in developing goals and KPIs.
    • Knowledge of sustainability/ESG reporting databases or platforms.
    • Familiarity with implementing Workiva solutions.
    • Experience in conducting human rights and saliency assessments.
    • The ability to provide diversity and inclusion advisory.

    Primary responsibilities:

    • Help Flag achieve and maintain a thought leadership position by having and maintaining best practice industry-leading expertise in your specialist areas.
    • Lead knowledge in your specialist area/s and regularly share with internal teams and clients, both on an ad hoc and request basis.
    • Coach analysts and others internally on areas of expertise, contributing to the team’s overall ESG knowledge.
    • Regularly produce thought leadership pieces in your areas of expertise, working closely with the Marketing team and others to disseminate it to Flag clients and broader stakeholders, including supporting the new business drive.
    • Attend and actively participate in in-person and digital industry events raising Flag’s profile as much as possible.
    • Lead research in our specialist area.
    • Enhance Flag’s proposal win rate by contributing your expertise and advice where appropriate, both in the proposal and subsequent presentations.
    • Contribute knowledge and strategic expertise to ongoing projects, helping the team deliver it with expertise and brilliance.
    • Lead relevant project presentations, workshops, interviews, etc with expert knowledge and confidence.
    • Support the Account Direction team by providing strategic guidance and recommendations directly to clients.

  • We are looking for candidates with previous experience as an Account Director or Consultant in a corporate reporting and communications agency, with a focus on sustainability issues.

    To be successful in this role, you will have:

    • A familiarity with global sustainability reporting frameworks, standards and legislation (e.g., TCFD, SASB, GRI, UNGPRF, IFRS S1 and S2, and ESRS under CSRD).
    • An understanding of corporate financial and ESG reporting trends and best practices.
    • Proven ability to drive client expansion, develop new business opportunities, exceed revenue targets and manage project costs within budget.
    • Strong people and team management skills.

    Primary responsibilities:

    • Create and maintain positive relationships with clients.
    • Achieve annual revenue targets as agreed each year.
    • Oversee all client and/or project activity, and provide leadership to any ADs working alongside you.
    • Maintain responsibility for the overall quality of Flag’s services to clients.
      Ensure project profitability at all times through regular review of costs and scope and through negotiating fees with clients.
    • Help differentiate Flag’s offering by providing technical ESG/sustainability expertise on client projects.
    • Participate in pitch conversations and proposal development.
    • Work with the Marketing Director to help raise Flag’s external profile and reputation and grow our client portfolio. This may include:
      • representing Flag at conferences and events (in person and online)
      • developing thought leadership pieces.
    • People management and development.
